About The Program:
In-DEPTH (Innovative Drug Education and Prevention Tools for your
Health) is a unique drug education, prevention, and intervention program.
The program was created by a pharmacist and MBA with an extensive
background in college teaching and pharmaceutical sales and marketing.
In-DEPTH addresses legal and illegal drug abuse, as well as violence
and drug dealing.
In-DEPTH, based on the social resistance model, delivers student-centered
interactive teaching strategies, and imparts a dynamic, multidisciplinary,
interactive curriculum. Incorporating sales and marketing techniques
used by the pharmaceutical industry, In DEPTH builds communication
skills, critical thinking, and the business understanding students
need to assess the real risks and returns associated with using or
dealing drugs. Using a "Trainer of Trainers" model, based
on motivational theory and Deming Philosophy, In-DEPTH uses teacher
training and follow-up evaluations to leave in place programs that
can continue to flourish after the initial training has taken place.
In-DEPTH provides a unique potential for capacity building that gives
teachers, students, and schools the tools students need to reduce
drug use, drug dealing, and violence long after the program has been
implemented.
